RECAP : WONDERFRONT 2022

Since it’s inception in 2019, Wonderfront Festival made it’s return after 2 years that restriction major gatherings and music festivals during the Global Pandemic in 2020. Wonderfront made it’s return with a 3 Day Festival full of star stardudded names headline each day such as : Zach Brown Band, Young the Giant, Quinn XCII, Earthgang, Kings of Leon, G-Eazy, Lauren Daigle, Swae Lee, Gwen Stefani, Cage the Elephant, ScHoolboy Q & Thundercat. Wonderfront Festival provided audiences and crowds with a multitude of variety with it’s artists ranging from Country to Hip-Hop. Endless Press Media sent photographer, Josue Cambara to provide coverage for Saturday and Sunday at Wonderfront. On Day 2 of the festival, the Coors Light Stage saw both Hip-Hop acts Swae Lee and G- Eazy graze the stage. Swae Lee brought incredible energy performing some of his biggest hits “Sunflower” and “Unforgettable”. Even performing a multitude of his Rae Sremmurd catalog including, “Black Beatles”, “Swang” and “No Type”. After an incredible performance that saw the crowd moshing and screaming lyrics at the top of their lungs. Once Swae Lee finished off his set he assured fans that more new music was to come with Sremm Life 4 on the way. Next was G-Eazy to grace the stage and close out Day 2 with a Headliner performance. The California native performed his long list of hit songs such as “Him & I” and “No Limit featuring Cardi B and A$AP Rocky. After finishing off an electric performance G - Eazy concluded Day 2 at Wonderfront. The last day at Wonderfront saw Miley Cyrus’s younger sibling Noah Cyrus performed an incredible set at sunset. Noah Cyrus had the crowd in their feelings performing emotional songs such as “July” and “Lonely”. Coming off of her latest release, The Hardest Part which saw her open her tour in Phoenix, Arizona and finish in Los Angeles, California. The sun set and by night fall, Cage the Elephant opened up their set with their song “Broken Boy” off of their 2019 album, Social Cues. Cage the Elephant had the entire crowd rocking out and went through a majority of their catalog within their hour long set. After Cage the Elephant rocked off the Main Stage, back over at the Coors Light Stage saw Los Angeles’ very own Thundercat bring a groovy set. The incredibly talented bass player brought the R&B to Wonderfront performing his Grammy winning album, It Is What It Is. Performing his hypnotic groovy hit song “Them Changes” with an incredible bass line only the multi talented Thundercat could have made. Day 3 of Wonderfront conclude with an hour long set from TDE’s ScHoolboy Q. Whose debut album saw three singles, “Man of the Year”, “Collard Greens”, and “Hell of a Night” all chart on the US Billboard Hot 100. ScHoolboy Q brought all of LA throughout his entire set to San Diego. Showcasing his incredible rapping abilities as an MC which rival his former label member, Kendrick Lamar. And with ScHoolboy Q’s powerful performance that closed out Wonderfront for 2022. An exciting fun festival which brought together a variety of art, foods and culture together for a three day weekend.
